ADAM COLE
Physiotherapist
APAM, B App Sc (Physio)
With over 26 years of clinical experience, Adam is a highly experienced physiotherapist with a career spanning hospital settings, private practice, and elite sport.
His early career focus on international sport took him to the United Kingdom, where he trained within leading sporting institutions and worked at a renowned medical clinic affiliated with the University of Cambridge. There, he provided physiotherapy care to university-level rowing athletes, including individuals who competed at Olympic level.
This foundation in high-performance sport led to further opportunities in professional rugby environments in Ireland, where Adam provided physiotherapy support to players within the Munster Rugby system. Over several seasons, he worked closely with elite-level athletes during a period that included two European Cup victories for Munster.
Returning to Australia, Adam established a private practice in the Blue Mountains in 2012, where his clinical focus broadened to encompass the wider needs of the local community. Since then, A1 Function has grown into one of the region’s leading providers of physiotherapy, Pilates, and exercise therapy services.
Alongside his musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy expertise, Adam has developed a strong clinical focus in neurological rehabilitation. He has extensive experience working with NDIS participants presenting with a range of neurological conditions, as well as supporting older adults with balance disorders and complex mobility needs.
Adam has undertaken extensive postgraduate professional development in lower back and neck rehabilitation, biomechanics, acupuncture, Pilates, and neurological rehabilitation.
